Am I Ready for a Yoga Teacher Training?

“Am I Ready for a Yoga Teacher Training?”

This is probably the question I get asked most often.

And my answer is almost always the same: If you feel the pull, it’s worth exploring.

When I enrolled in my own Yoga Teacher Training, I wasn’t planning on opening a yoga studio and I certainly didn't feel ready to become a yoga teacher.

I was searching for something much deeper.

At a time when life felt heavy and I had lost everything I thought to be real, I felt an undeniable call to turn inward—to understand myself, reconnect with my spirit, and find a different way of moving through the world. Yoga became more than a physical practice. It became a path of healing, self-inquiry, and transformation.

Somewhere along that journey, something shifted.

The more this ancient practice empowered me, the more I felt called to share it with others. Not because I had all the answers, but because I had experienced firsthand what was possible when we slow down, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.

That desire to help others feel what I had found is what ultimately led me to teach and open up Sol Spirit.

If you’re waiting until you’re “good enough,” “flexible enough,” or “ready enough,” know that almost every teacher has stood exactly where you are.

A 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training isn’t about becoming perfect.

It’s about becoming more yourself.

Whether your intention is to teach, deepen your practice, or simply discover who you are beneath all the noise, this journey has the potential to change your life in ways you can’t yet imagine.

If you've been asking yourself, "Am I ready?"... maybe that's the only sign you need to take the next step.

But if you're still looking for a little more reassurance, here are 10 more signs that a Yoga Teacher Training may be right for you.

1. You keep thinking about it.
If the idea keeps coming back to you, there’s probably a reason. Sometimes curiosity is the first step toward transformation.

2. You want more than just the poses.
You’re curious about yoga philosophy, breathwork, meditation, anatomy, or how yoga can support everyday life—not just your practice on the mat.

3. You think you need to be “better” first.
Truthfully… you don’t.

You don’t need to be flexible, advanced, or able to do handstands. You just need an open mind and a willingness to learn.

4. You crave personal growth.
A Yoga Teacher Training is as much about discovering yourself as it is about learning to teach.

5. You want to understand your body.
Learn anatomy, alignment, modifications, and how to move in a way that supports your unique body.

6. You feel called to help others.
Whether it’s teaching classes or simply sharing yoga with friends and family, that desire to serve matters.

7. You’re ready to move through fear.
Almost everyone starts with self-doubt.

The people who grow the most aren’t the ones without fear—they’re the ones who decide to begin anyway.

8. You’re looking for community.
One of the greatest gifts of a YTT is the people you meet. Many leave with lifelong friendships and a support system that extends far beyond graduation.

9. You want tools for life—not just yoga.
You’ll learn practices that support your nervous system, relationships, confidence, resilience, and overall well-being.

10. You’re more ready than you think.

No one begins a Yoga Teacher Training feeling 100% prepared.

You simply begin.

Everything else unfolds along the way.

Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training begins this Fall. We’d love to walk this journey with you.

Warmly,

Liz
